Recap: "Secrets of Stating Home for Life" Open House

On June 28, we had a fantastic crowd gather for our open house, featuring "The Secrets of Staying Home for Life". Keynote speaker Traci Goudy (President & Founder of Homecare By Design) started us off by informing our guess of the retirement options and care solutions we offer. The group was relieved to hear such a simple, comprehensive approach to senior care and had lots of questions! Lee Goudy spoke next about home safety, which can of course affect your long-term retirement goals. After eating lunch in our bistro, our guests watched as our handyman, Rusty, demonstrated how to spruce up an outdoor living area for maximum enjoyment. Following lunch, Andy Haste from Riverside Construction discussed home modifications that can be made to accommodate a variety of changes we may experience as we age. For example, did you know you can alter your kitchen counters so an individual in a wheelchair can still access what they need without trouble? Lastly, Ruth Eubank with the Master Gardeners (Purdue Extension) taught our guests which house & garden plants are low-maintenance, and how easy it can be to have a small garden.
