As I'm getting older, I realize that I don't have as much fun as I used to. My friends have moved away, and some have passed on, and I just don't have a strong social life like I used to, so I wind up home alone watching TV way too often. I feel like I'm going nuts! How can I, as a senior, bring some fun back into my life?
We opened our Clubhouse for this exact purpose - we found that many seniors start losing their social life as they age, even though deep down they WANT to have fun. It's intimidating to start over by making new friends and getting involved in new activities. The simplest answer is that you need to find something and just DO IT, even if you're intimidated or uncomfortable. We offer "Discovery Day", an open house event, the last Wednesday of every month as an opportunity for seniors like you to try new things, meet new people, and become familiar & comfortable in our clubhouse.
The "Fun Squares", a local square dancing group, has fun here on most Wednesday nights! This is just an example of the things we do at the clubhouse, and how much fun YOU could be having by putting yourself out there.
