Have you caught on to the "Adult Coloring" trend? All over store shelves, adult coloring books are being stocked to the brim and still flying off the shelves - and not just recently! Why? Are adults coloring as an act of nostalgia? No. Coloring in patterns is actually a soothing activity, as the repetitive motions of filling in spaces has what some call a 'meditative effect'. Coloring has helped many cope with stressful lives, and even helped them process their grief after the loss of a loved one.
Why not give it a try? We offer Adult Coloring (materials provided) every Friday at 11am. Southern Care Hospice volunteer coordinator Marlena Brown will occasionally join these sessions to provide your very own Color Journal to keep and make the experience all the more enjoyable.
