Caregiver Selection & More

Before visiting your home, our Caregivers undergo multiple interviews, at least three background checks and up to six personal and professional reference checks. They must also pass pre-screening testing and integrity analysis before being invited to our 2-day Orientation and hands-on training with our Caregiver Ambassador. All of our associates are bonded and insured for your safety and peace of mind. To further educate our associates, we provide additional hands-on training in the field with each individual, as well as give them insight into providing specialized care for a wide variety of clients. The education doesn’t stop after orientation either. In fact, we provide ongoing training at our quarterly All-Staff meetings, as well as one-on-one training for specialty cases. We are the only homecare agency in the area with its own Caregiver Classroom, complete with a simulated senior apartment, food preparation training area, and full sized education classroom.

Ashlee's warm, friendly attitude will brighten anyone's day , while her ability to take initiative reassures her clients that they are in good hands. One of her clients told HBD, "Seeing Ashlee's smiling face in the morning is always a great start to my day!".

Hello! My name is Autumn! I am 24 years old and an animal lover!! I have 3 fur babies at home. I enjoy reading and binge watching tv shows with my family. I've been working with seniors around 5 years now, and I love it! I am CPR & AED certified. And I was born and raised in Indiana.

Hello! My name is Misty! I am 34 and I love my job because I love the clients I work with. I am a cheerful person and love to make people smile, I always strive to leave a good impression on them when I leave. I love livinf life to the fullest. I love making my clients smile and laugh. I live with my mom and take care of her. She is a lovely woman and I get my cheerfulness from her. I will continue making people smile and happy. 

Meet Sammantha! Caregiver Since 2019
Hello! My name is Sammantha and I have been with Homecare By Design since 2019. I am a mother of 3 small humans and 6 furbabies. Connecting with others has always come easily to me and I love the gift of giving. If I can bring someone comfort and happiness, that's my main goal of the day. I have a passion for gourmet cooking, arts and crafts...from painting, quilting, to crochetting. I also consider myself quite the "handy-woman". I feel like the best approach to caregiving is an abundance of patience and empathy. I love getting to know each of my clients, learning their stories are like new chapters to a history book and their stories matter. I am CPR and AED certified through Red Cross. Much of my caregiving experience started at a young age, having been raised by my great-grandmother. She cared for me at the start of my life and I cared for her in every way possible when her story was ending. Because of my connection to her and many other seniors in my life, providing them loving care, just as I would for my own, gives me a great sense of pride and purpose.

I have been with homecare by design 2 years in October. I love talking to clients and making them laugh and smile. Other things I enjoying on my days off spending time with my 3 kids, swimming and just watching a movie relaxing. 

Meet Bev! Caregiver Since 2017
 Hi! My name is Beverly and I’ve been involved with helping seniors since I was 13 years old. I began as a nurses aide, later became marketing manager for 3 retirement communities, and currently am in my 4th year at HBD. I have 2 grown children, one granddaughter ( who I babysit most days) and one grandson coming in June! I love animals, reading, gardening and word puzzles. Working at HBD allows me the opportunity to contribute to the high quality of life our seniors deserve!

Meet Carolyn! Caregiver Since 2019
Hi! I've been a Homecare By Design caregiver two years in July. (Worked with mentally & physically disabled clients in past.) Hometown: Michigan City, IN. Live in Lafayette (22 yrs). Enjoy classic movies with John Wayne, Katharine Hepburn & others, traveling, nat'l & state parks, Christian & Oldies songs, & watching seagulls (hometown our beach on Lake Michigan). Have two grown kids and six grandchildren (love being grandma). Write fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Very much enjoy assisting clients, hearing their stories, laughing with them, making them smile, & meeting their families.

I'm Tatianna! I've been with Homecare By Design for about a year & a half. My hobbies include traveling, yoga, getting pampered and spending time with my family. I grew up in Chicago and graduate with my masters in psychology in December 2021!

Hi! I’m Kierra! I am a 22 years old and also currently attending Purdue University full time. My major is wildlife biology so, I love animals and wildlife! I have 1 cat and his name is Prince. I am originally from Edinburgh, Indiana but moved here for college. I love my job because it allows me to spread kindness and care to others. I am a funny and caring person so I love to make people laugh and be at ease. I will continue to work hard and provide others with the best care!

Hi!  My name is Bonnie Lawson, I have been part of Homecare for 3 years. In 2008, I entered the Healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. I love what I do, doing what I love...caring for clients to stay at home! I love landscaping,gardening, cooking and going to Car shows with my husband. We also love taking trips. I love animals, also raccoon rescues and rehab from 1983 to 2015.
